Description

The participants of this workshop will gain a working knowledge of Singularity, a lightweight container technology suitable for HPC environment, which allow full exploitation of HPC
interconnects, resource managers, file systems, GPUs and/or accelerators. The workshop
features:

* A series of technical talks about containers and Singularity in particular;
* Experience from other centers that are evaluating and deploying Singularity in their own HPC environments;
* Hands-on exercises, including moving from Docker to Singularity to scale-out computation on HPC systems;
* Overview about what container technologies are available in public clouds environment like Microsoft Azure;

More information can be found on our event webpage:

This workshop is sponsored by Software Sustainability Institute (SSI) and Cambridge Research Computing Service (RCS). The new EPSRC-funded Tier-II Cambridge Service for Data Driven Discovery compute facility will facilitate running distributed and parallel compute jobs on Singularity-enabled containers.
