Music at MAA: Indonesian Gamelan Music, 21 Nov 2025![]() DescriptionMuseum of Archaeology and Anthropology (MAA) Cost: £22 per person for general admission Venue: Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, Downing Street, Cambridge CB2 3DZ Contact: A concert of music played on the bronze gongs and metallophones of Indonesia. The Cambridge Gamelan Society will perform music on the Javanese gamelan gadhon, a rich and soft-sounding chamber ensemble. The programme will include classic vocal and instrumental works from the traditional Central Javanese repertoire. The Gamelan Society is a student/community ensemble dedicated to the performance of traditional and contemporary gamelan compositions. They will be joined by guest musicians Cathy Eastburn and Dave McKenny to provide a programme capturing the intricacy and delicacy of this beautiful genre of gamelan music. Please note that this programme is designed for an adult audience and that MAA runs other activities for families and young people.
