International Symposium of the Nihon kinsei bungaku kai
Early Modern Graphic Narratives (kusazōshi): Making the Most of Digital Data.

This international symposium is co-organized by the Nihon kinsei bungaku kai 日本近世文学会 (The Japanese Early Modern Literature Association), the Faculty of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies, University of Cambridge (Japanese Studies), and Japan Women’s University. It also enjoys the support of the National Institute of Japanese Literature (NJIL). It runs from 18 to 21 September 2025 and welcomes 60 participants worldwide.
