It does so flexibly in accordance with the needs of its users; it uses IT to underpin its operations and its activities are informed by relevant research in second language acquisition and educational technology.

CULP (Cambridge University Language Programmes)

Open to all current students, staff of the University and members of general public CULP offers general purposes courses in a range of languages, including Arabic, Brazilian Portuguese, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Modern Greek, Russian, Spanish and Swahili.

Courses are delivered face-to-face or online via Zoom and online teaching resources making full use of Moodle and bespoke courseware developed by the Language Centre.

John Trim Centre Visitor Access - Options

John Trim Centre Visitor Access - Options

Description

Anyone who is not a member of staff or student of the University can access the wide range of resources at the John Trim Centre (JTC), part of the University of Cambridge Language Centre, by registering and paying an annual or termly fee, depending on their needs.

Resources are available in over 180 languages from beginners' to advanced level and JTC staff are available to help and guide users in their choice of materials.  Your annual membership fee includes an initial advice session with one of our trained advisers who will introduce you to our multimedia workstations, video viewing stations and listening stations all of which can be used individually or in pairs for independent learning.  Direct satellite broadcasts are currently available daily in many languages, and live TV from many countries can be watched on the workstations.
