Outing to Oxburgh Estate and Elsing Hall Gardens, 21 May 2024Info Location Contact Event Information
DescriptionHome to the Bedingfeld family for 500 years, Oxburgh reveals one family's unshakable Catholic faith and story of endurance. The gardens are a mixture of formal and wilderness, with the kitchen garden, orchard and herbaceous border adding colour and seasonal interest. Elsing Hall was built in about 1470, and the Gardens established over 30 years ago. A particular feature of the gardens is the multitude of old English roses that adorn the walls of the house, the walled garden and many borders giving off an almost overpowering scent when in full bloom. The ticket includes an introductory talk and tea/coffee on the back terrace of the garden. Date & time: Tuesday, 21 May 2024 NOTE: Depart CUBG 8am or Trumpington Park & Ride 8.15am
