BeyondHubbleBeyondHubbleBeyondHubble: Revisiting the Hubble Sequence Across Cosmic Time, 20-24 April 2025DescriptionExactly 100 years after Hubble’s seminal work on the morphology of local galaxies, we will hold a timely conference at KICC to connect the recent, high-redshift JWST discoveries to both predictions from theoretical models and studies of galaxy evolution across cosmic time, down to our own Milky Way galaxy. We want to bring together observers studying the structural evolution of galaxies with theorists and simulators to discuss recent advances in our understanding of the origin of the Hubble Sequence. The main purpose of our conference is to trigger cross discussions between observers and theorists on our current understanding on galaxy morphology, with an emphasis on revisiting the Hubble Sequence in the modern-day galaxy formation framework. University of Cambridge Students and Staff Registration includes lunches and the conference dinner for delegates attending the main event. If you wish to bring a guest to the conference dinner, please purchase a saparate Guest Dinner Ticket.
