Effective online communication for Supervisors

Effective online communication for Supervisors

£20.00

Description

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought about a rapid transition to remote working and, with this, a need to adjust to new ways of interacting and teaching. Despite University’s efforts to enable face-to-face learning when possible, many of the supervisions will remain to be delivered online.

Video conferencing entails communication norms different to in-person communication and it calls for subtle (but important) adjustments in how we facilitate learning. This interactive session will focus on effective e-communication in supervision. It will be useful to all supervisors and will address questions such as what are the challenges of video conferencing in supervising and how to make one's sessions immediately more effective.

Format: A 90-minute interactive Zoom session with use of breakout rooms and discussions.
